subaru camping conversion
Before all the chaos from COVID, my plan post-graduation was to build out my car to support a 3-month long road trip to as many National Parks as possible. Once COVID hit, I realized this trip was no longer feasible. Still, I had the materials, the design, and the excitement. So I continued on with the build.
When in use, the car bed is a little smaller than a full size bed. The bed is able to fold up and fit in the trunk of my Subaru to allow for use of the back seats. Additionally, the bed sits above two drawers: one with a top opening for clothing and general food storage; another with a side opening so it can act as a makeshift table.
Although I have yet to take this set up across the country, I have done numerous camping trips in the Northeast with great success!
